At work, we all meet people with different values and opinions and sometimes these differences can result in conflict.
Add to that the fact that it is not possible to avoid stress, our ethos is: 'do not leave employee well-being to chance.'
At nevski, we have found that it is common for individuals to feel challenged and out of their depth when faced with difficult conversations. The emotional can hijack the rational. The result is often disorientation when faced with actual or potential conflict. To deal with these feelings one very common reaction is avoidance.
Sometimes avoidance is the right thing to do, as some situations 'blow-over.' However, if this is the only strategy in the professional's toolbox then there are limitations to their managerial effectiveness. This is where we can support individuals to widen their conflict skills as well as imparting wider organisational development in conflict resolution.
